Wrapped tightly close to her head, without having softly draping fabric to distract her during conferences at her tech startup, Dilara Sayeed’s hijab is American in more techniques than one.
Her hijab, or Muslim headscarf, provides a smooth, Specialist profile that is mostly viewed from the U.S.
As well as the spirit with which Sayeed, a previous Democratic applicant for the Illinois Dwelling of Representatives, wears her hijab is American too. When Sayeed’s Indian-born father questioned her selection to cover her hair at age 19, saying, “You’re in the usa now; you don’t have To achieve this,” Sayeed’s comeback was the things of a highschool civics class:
“It’s since I’m American that I can muslim fashion opt to go over, Daddy.”
